Assistant Apprentice
Essential – No Experience or Hairdressing Qualifications needed.
Preferred – GCSE’s in Maths and English at grade C or above.
Role The ideal position for a school leaver or anyone looking to begin their career in Hairdressing, our Assistant position is primarily a training position with no requirements other than you must have an excellent attitude, motivation to learn for the duration of your career and a real passion for the industry! (We will consider applications from learners who have already begun training at another salon or completed their NVQ Level 2 in full time college but don’t have the right experience for a Graduate Stylist.) As an Assistant Apprentice your main role will consist of working closely with your Stylists to ensure the smooth running of the salon, your main duties will include the salon housekeeping, general reception tasks and our clients cleansing and treatment services. You will be tasked with assisting your Stylists with their clients while receiving training in all basic  Hairdressing services in-salon while working towards your NVQ Level 2 with a college or training provider. As you progress throughout your training, you will move on to your intermediate training and your duties will increase to include carrying out basic services including; Blow Dries, Full Head Colours, Root Retouches and Toning services.
Progression – Graduate Stylist
 
Graduate Stylist

Essential – NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing, minimum 2 years in-salon experience and able to carry out all basic Hairdressing services.
Preferred – Experience working alongside Senior Stylists to a time bound column.
Role Still predominantly a training position, our Graduate Stylist post is the bridge between your Assistant role and becoming a fully fledged Stylist while you take your first real step onto the salon floor. (We will consider applications from learners studying their NVQ Level 3 looking to move to an apprenticeship providing they are up to standard and able to carry out a Graduate Stylist role.)
Once they have completed all their basic training, gained enough experience and successfully completed the relevant assessments, our Graduate Stylists manage their own column while building their clientele. You will be carrying out all basic services in salon including highlighting and cutting while working towards your NVQ Level 3 with a college or training provider and receiving further intermediate training in salon. Our comprehensive training programme will also provide you with the opportunity to attend additional intermediate training and education.
Progression – Salon Stylist
 
 

Salon Stylist
Essential – NVQ Level 3 in Hairdressing, minimum 4 years in-salon experience and able to carry out all intermediate Hairdressing services.
Preferred – Experience building your own clientele and additional intermediate training in colouring and cutting.
Role
Our Salon Stylist position is ideal for someone who has completed all of their formal Hairdressing training, has the salon experience and has mastered the art of running a busy schedule. As a fully qualified Stylist, we expect all our Salon Stylists to work to a busy, time bound column carrying out all intermediate hairdressing services to a high standard, meeting the performance targets of a Stylist while continuing to build their own clientele. You will continuously receive training in advanced services ensuring your skills are up to date and will be given the opportunity to attend additional advanced training.
Progression – Senior Stylist
 
 
Senior Stylist
Essential – Up-to-date knowledge and skills in all the latest trends, techniques and products. NVQ Level 3 in Hairdressing, minimum 6 years in-salon experience and able to carry out all advanced Hairdressing services.
Preferred – Your own clientele and additional advanced training in colouring and cutting.
Role – Our Senior Stylist position is ideal for those with a great deal of salon experience, fully qualified and up to date with all the latest trends and techniques with customer service and working with clients on the salon floor as priority. Seniors will generally have a much larger clientele and be able to offer all advanced hairdressing services including colour correction services, fashion and bespoke colouring and cutting to an exceptionally high standard while working to a busy, time bound column alongside their own Assistant. Keeping your skills up to date and on trend is essential along with a highly motivated and ambitious attitude. Further advanced/mastery training is always offered and encouraged while excellent customer service and self-management skills are a must.
Progression – Specialist, Assistant Educator or Assistant Manager
 
 

Senior Stylist (Specialist)
Essential – Up-to-date knowledge and skills in all the latest trends, techniques and products with additional advanced/mastery training in colouring and cutting. NVQ Level 3 in Hairdressing, minimum 8 years in-salon experience and able to carry out all advanced Hairdressing services.
Preferred – Experience creating and developing hairdressing collections, session work and working to a brief.
Role
Our Specialist position is ideal for Senior Stylists looking to advance into a more creative and design role, with aspects of both training and management. Highly experienced and highly qualified with a creative flair, our Specialist Seniors are expected to have gained additional advanced/mastery training in their craft. Along with being a very busy Stylist on the salon floor carrying out all advanced hairdressing services to an exceptionally high standard, and of course managing your own clientele, column and Assistant, as a Specialist it is expected that you are highly creative and motivated with a passion and talent towards session, photographic and design work. Some of your duties will be to work alongside the Salon Manager and Style Director to devise and create collections while working with the Salon Educator to mentor other Stylists in your specialist area. Your development and training plan will centre around this area ensuring you are not just up to date and on trend but have the ability and opportunity to create the looks yourself.

Assistant Educator
Essential – Up-to-date knowledge and skills in all the latest trends, techniques and products. NVQ Level 3 in Hairdressing, minimum 8 years in-salon experience, additional advanced training in colouring and cutting and able to carry out all advanced Hairdressing services.
Preferred – Experience training less experienced members of a team in-salon, assessing and planning learner development, working to a scheme of work and session plans, and delivering training sessions.
Role
Our Assistant Educator position is ideal for Senior Stylists looking to advance onto an in-salon teaching position and gain both qualification and experience in teaching in a working environment. Like our Senior Stylists, our Assistant Educators are expected to be highly qualified and experienced in all areas of advanced Hairdressing while managing their own column, clientele and Assistant. Additional to your Stylist role, as a salon educator your duties will include working closely with the Salon Manager,  Salon Educator and Style Director to create and deliver our training programme to the team which will include creating and delivering training sessions both practical and theory. A passion for the Hairdressing industry and training future Stylists is essential, your own training and development plan will include advanced and mastery training to ensure your skills are up to date and on trend and a progression route for teacher training and assessing will be offered and encouraged.
Progression – Salon Educator
 
 
Assistant Manager
Essential – Up-to-date knowledge and skills in all the latest trends, techniques and products. NVQ Level 3 in Hairdressing, minimum 8 years in-salon experience, additional advanced training in colouring and cutting and able to carry out all advanced Hairdressing services.
Preferred – Experience managing a team in-salon, creating and evaluating salon marketing and online media and performing administration and management duties within a salon business environment.
Role Our Assistant Manager position is ideal for Senior Stylists looking to advance onto a management position within a salon and gain experience and qualifications in team leading and/or management. Like our Senior Stylists, our Assistant Managers are expected to be highly qualified and experienced in all areas of advanced Hairdressing while managing their own column, clientele and Assistant. Additional to your Stylist role, as an Assistant Manager your duties will include working closely with the Salon Manager, Salon Educator and Style Director to help manage the team on a day to day basis, organise and arrange events, oversee the delivery of customer service and contribute towards creating and evaluating the salon marketing and online media. Your own training and development plan will include advanced and mastery training to ensure your skills are up to date and on trend and a progression route towards team leading and management will be offered and encouraged.
