Frances has been super busy today making sure that everyone
with pre-booked appointments between tomorrow and Christmas has received a text
message with a little update. I just wanted to give everyone a little more
information about what we are doing:
Firstly, we knew this was coming and we were prepared. This
was one of the reasons why we were only allowing clients to book one appointment
ahead. Secondly, we were due a two-week holiday for the last two weeks of
November where the salon was already planned to be closed. This means we are incredibly
lucky, and pleased to say that so far, we’re only losing 2 weeks of appointments.
We are hoping to reopen on Thursday 3 December
at the end of this lockdown, however, it’s really important to understand that
this is not a definite date, it’s only an “at the earliest”. There’s a
possibility that the lockdown may be extended, or further restrictions being
brought in that prevents us from opening. We will not be booking any client
appointments until we know for certain that we can honour them.
Just like last time, all clients with pre-booked
appointments will take priority, in order of who was ‘cancelled’ first. For example,
those of you who were originally booked in tomorrow (5 November)
will be given first offer of appointments on 3 December, and we’ll
work forward from there. Ideally, we should just be able to postpone all
appointments by the amount of time that we are closed.
The two-week holiday we had planned at the end of November
will help, with most customers not needing to wait the full 4 weeks. If all
goes to plan and we can reopen on 3 December, those of you with
appointments between 5-14 November will be postponed
by 4 weeks and given priority bookings as soon as we can open. Those of you with
appointments between 2-24 December may only be
postponed by two weeks. Appointments booked after Christmas should not be
affected as we aim to get everyone in before we break up.
As soon as we know a definite date that we can reopen, we
will be in touch. Like last time, I will personally contact clients to offer
you appointments over the phone.
Our priority is our customers, we will happily adjust our
working days/hours to accommodate everyone we can while maintaining the
strictest COVID-Safe precautions in the lead up to the busy Christmas period.
Our online booking will be disabled and once again, we will not be accepting
new clients until our loyal customers are looked after.
The usual Colour Safe policy and professional Health and Safety
precautions will still be paramount, skin tests will be needed if your rescheduled
appointment goes over 6 weeks and once again, we ask that customers try to
resist the urge to apply shop-bought box dyes or cut their own hair. It’s only
4 weeks, 2 weeks for most, and we’re hoping to reschedule appointments as
smoothly as possible without as many corrections. Home coloured hair will
require a consultation and further testing, delaying any appointments that can be
booked, and meaning larger, more time-consuming services. We politely ask
everyone to consider other customers with this, as more corrections means fewer
appointments are available.
We’ll be keeping everyone updated as much as possible on our
social media channels and website, don’t forget you can reach out by sending us
a direct message or email. We hope everyone stays safe and follows the guidance
so we can get back to work as soon as possible.
See you soon, Laura & Frances
